A Pandemic Christmas (2020)

I realize it's been a while since I've last posted. The fall season came and went, and you returned to school, only to be sent home to learn virtually. You are bored at school because of course you are. You want to be challenged!

One of the things that keeps you going is dreaming of the snowy season, when you can actually go snowboarding (your new first and last love!)

The global virus has wiped out almost all of our holiday plans, and we're forced to cancel a myriad of activities. All we have, and all we need, is each other. This Christmas season we get to spend almost two weeks together. Your mom and Chris are in Florida, so you get to stay with us for an extra week!

Christmas Eve traditions include: everyone laying on the floor, watching The Polar Express and A Christmas Story. We drank Peppermint Hot Cocoa, and Teresa made a yummy fondue dinner for us to enjoy. We ate and laughed and snuggled and pet the bunnies, and when we looked outside... snow was falling!

We woke up Christmas morning to the smell of breakfast in the kitchen, and lots of presents under the tree. It was magical, and full of love. We read from the Bible and then took turns opening our presents. Of all the gifts - you got hooooookkkkkeeeeddd up with Snowboard equipment! Probably $1,000 worth of stuff, including your snowboard last summer. We all got North Face attire thanks to their discount for Health Workers during the pandemic.

The next day, Teresa and I took you to snowboard at Bittersweet and despite the chaos of the crowds, it was a lot of painful fun!

... just wait until you see how we'll kick of 2021!
